This is a question I often ask myself when facing challenges. Most of the stressors in my life tend to fade within days or weeks, and I remind myself that in a short time, they likely won’t even cross my mind.
Recently, I dealt with a water leak in my roof, a frustrating and urgent situation. I had to quickly find someone to diagnose and fix the issue before it caused more damage, and of course, it came with unexpected costs. In that moment, I asked myself, “Will this matter in five years?” The answer was a clear NO. This was a temporary issue that would be resolved soon, allowing me to return to normal.
Keeping this perspective helped me stay focused and manage my stress appropriately, ensuring I put my energy into problem-solving rather than excessive worry.
How do you handle situations like these?
