Energy Levels of People Pleasers Vs. People who Hold Boundaries

September 2, 2025 Roberto Reif

Both people pleasers and people who hold boundaries want to help others, but their motivations differ. People pleasers struggle with saying "no", and seek approval at their own expense. They fear disappointing others, lack boundaries, and often feel drained. Altruists, however, give selflessly without expecting anything in return. They set healthy boundaries, ensuring their generosity doesn’t compromise their well-being.

While both show kindness, people pleasers act to avoid conflict, whereas altruists help from genuine compassion.

Have you ever found yourself giving so much that it drained you?
